April’s fun outdoor events are great for social butterflies in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Critter collectors also have lots of critters to catch.
April marks the middle of spring and fall in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and players will find lots of fun events and new critters to catch. April is a great month for social butterflies, with lots of events taking place outdoors in the sunshine. Critter collectors can also find new bugs, fish, and deep-sea creatures on their islands, all waiting to be caught and donated to the Museum.
After a quiet March spent catching new seasonal critters, players will find April is much more lively. Events such as Cherry Blossom and Maple Leaf Season will bring the inhabitants of your island outdoors, giving you the chance to reconnect with old friends. Summer and Winter are still weeks away, but there’s still lots of fun to be had.

April Events And Seasonal Items
Players in the Northern Hemisphere enjoy Cherry Blossom Season from April 1-10. Hardwood trees transform into cherry blossom trees, and players can catch Cherry Blossom Petals to craft special Cherry Blossom DIY Recipes.
Bunny Day traditionally runs in April in line with Easter Sunday, but the event occurs on the 31st of March this year.
The second Fishing Tourney of the year is also scheduled for April 13. Players can participate in a contest to catch as many fish as possible in three minutes. Points can be exchanged for special fishing-themed prizes.
Players in the Southern Hemisphere get to enjoy Maple Leaf Season from April 16-26. This is the fall season’s counterpart to Cherry Blossom Season; players can catch maple leaves and craft special Maple Leaf DIY Recipes.
Unlike other months, which often don’t feature many new events or critters, April offers a nice balance between critter catching and special events. There’s always something for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to enjoy in April.
